We are running three one-day
courses at the beginning of 2009, where you can take
advantage of Derek Gale's years of photographic experience and enthusiasm. All courses have plenty of "hands on"
sessions so you can put into practice the lessons you've learnt. Further
course dates
Saturday January 31st "Demystifying your Digital Compact Camera" £ 50
A course to help you find your way round the buttons and menus of your digital compact camera, and experience what each of them does. At the end of the day you will be taking photographs with confidence, and be comfortable downloading them to your PC for simple editing. You don't need any previous photographic experience. Only 4 places left!
Saturday February 21st "The
Creative Eye" £ 65
In this course you will learn
how to avoid the common mistakes people make when taking pictures, how to compose
pictures that have much more impact and interest, how to see the
photographic potential of the world around you, and how to
enhance your
images using easy editing techniques in Photoshop. At the end of the day you'll see with a more
creative eye, and know how to move your
photography to the next level. You'll need a working knowledge of your
compact or prosumer digital camera, or DSLR.
Saturday
March 21st "Love your DSLR" £ 75
Digital Single Lens Reflex cameras (DSLRs) offer much more creative control and flexibility than simple "point and shoot" cameras, but with that comes more complexity. This course introduces you to the design and operation of these cameras, and shows you how elements such as lens choice, exposure level, shutter speed, aperture, and camera menu settings affect the images produced. At the end of the day you'll have the confidence to experiment with your DSLR to get the great images you're looking for. Only 4 places left!
All courses are held in the lovely South Oxfordshire village of Watchfield, just a few miles from Swindon. They run from 10am till 4pm and include seminar and practical sessions, course notes, and tea/coffee and biscuits. To ensure each person gets plenty of one-to-one attention, there is a maximum of 12 places on the Jan 31st course and 10 places on the other two courses.
